This event has allowed us to bring together our global community of partners for two days of collaboration and exploration of how we can shape the future of commerce.
Over the past few years, the needs of merchants and their customers have changed. We can no longer think of commerce exclusively as an online store or a brick and mortar location. The future of commerce is everywhere, and that future is now.
At Unite, we announced several new products and features designed to help us and our partner ecosystem build immersive multi-channel commerce solutions for the over 243,000 merchants using Shopify. While we were excited to share the news with you all, we’re even more excited to see what you’ll create.
If you missed the first day of Unite, here’s what went down on our main stage:
Sales Channel SDK — This new software development kit will allow you to get your app into the heart of our merchants’ businesses — of which there are more than 243,000. We’re taking the technology we used for our integrations with Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, and Amazon, and we’re handing it over to you. Learn more.
JavaScript Buy SDK — Using the Shopify API, the JavaScript Buy SDK allows you to integrate commerce functionality into any website or JavaScript application with the addition of a single script. Learn more.
iOS and Android Buy SDKs — Our soon-to-be released iOS and Android Buy SDKs will offer you enhanced capabilities for developing native shopping experiences across the most popular mobile devices. Learn more.
Online Store Editor — Later this year, we’ll be releasing our new Online Store Editor. Our new editor will offer you the ability to build more innovative, customizable, and merchant-friendly themes than ever before. While we can’t say too much now, stay tuned for more details surrounding the new Online Store Editor coming soon.
Shopify Scripts — A new feature for Shopify Plus, Shopify Scripts frees you from the headaches of managing infrastructure, provisioning servers, and optimizing networks, giving you the freedom to focus on writing the code that will help merchants grow. Learn more.
